On October 28, 2004, Helen Goldenberg made a presentation to a luncheon meeting of the Petroleum History Society entitled “Little Chicago Revisited”. She told us the story of how she and others preserved the memory of the town where she grew up - the oil boom town of Little Chicago or Royalties, near Turner Valley in southern Alberta. Their project culminated in a ceremony to unveil the monument to remember the town. Excerpts from her talk are provided in our Archives newsletter of December 2004 and October of 2005 (PDFs).Photos of the unveiling ceremony are below. |
